BMW E30: Time to say goodbye to an old friend

The time has come for the family's E30 to go to the big carpark in the sky. We've had a good run, but i guess it is time for her to rest. A broken gearbox and a soon-to-end COE maked it financially unwise to keep her on the road. Goodbye ol' friend, you will be missed and remembered with fond memories.
Here's a link to a short journal of our ownership »

BMW E34, The Big Bad *Grey* Wolf.

Never took the time to take much photos of the E34 ever since i got her. So after shooting pictures of the now-departed Polo, i took some quick shots of the Big Bad (Grey) Wolf before the batteries went flat.

Interior carpets were swapped out from the E36 over to the E34. Kind of suits the color scheme donchá think?

New BMW Performance Kit Boosts

s well setting the stage for the world premiere of the Vision CD roadster concept and the production version of the pure-electric 1-Series ActiveE, the Geneva Motor Show will also see the launch of BMW's new Performance Power Kit for the firm's 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine found on numerous models including the 1-,3- and 5-Series range in both rear- and all-wheel drive configurations. The upgrade is available for both the previous 177HP as well as the newer 184HP 2.0L engine.
Thanks to an engine software optimization plus a larger intercooler and a more-efficient fan for the main radiator, output is lifted from 177HP and 350Nm to 197HP and 390Nm, and from 184Hp and 380Nm to 200HP and 420Nm, for each engine respectively. According to BMW, the acceleration from 80 to 120 km/h in 5th gear is up to one second faster after the conversion.
Buyers can also add BMW's Performance Sports Silencer that comes with two round, chrome plated 74mm tail pipes, and which in addition to optimizing exhaust back pressure, also offers a sportier sound.

Munich Automobiles showcases the 1 Series ///M-Coupé

Munich Auto held the unveiling of the 1 ///M-Coupe on our local shores and i had the priviledge to sneak a peak. It looks really great in the flesh, very muscular, very stout and squat with great STANCE! Many have asked bout this, the price. SGD$220,000 without COE. Pre-orders for one of only 20 vehicles to be available in Singapore at an exclusive preview on 22-23-24 January 2011.

The 1 M will be at Munich Auto for this weekend, so be sure to head down to have a look. Time to go RS3 stomping! Here's the Press Release »

Even under covers, the extended wheelarches give it a menacing presence.

It's abit strange to see a plaque with the words "Powered by BMW M" in place of the traditional badges though.

1 ///M will only come with a stick shift! The 'preferred' shift some might say.
